There are so many wonderful things about fall in Anderson County, Tennessee. The sights, sounds, smells, and one of our favorites – the flavors! Here are a few of our favorite places to experience Anderson County’s fall flavors.
The Soup Kitchen – Nothing says fall quite like a hearty bowl of soup. At The Soup Kitchen in Oak Ridge, you have your pick of 8 different styles of soup, 4-6 choices of homemade bread, sandwiches, desserts, and more. The best part is everything is made in house from scratch each day! The Bacon Cheddar soup is one of our favorites!
Museum of Appalachia – You haven’t experienced Anderson County without a visit to the Restaurant at the Museum of Appalachia. Your taste buds will be transported back to mamaw’s kitchen and you’ll be embraced with southern hospitality. Each week brings a new line-up of seasonal favorites, so be sure to check their Facebook page for the weekly menu.
Vega Café and Smokehaus – Anderson County is made up of small towns, but Vega Café and Smokehaus has brought big city flavor to us, and we couldn’t be more proud. Chef John Fletcher has a vision for his dishes and really creates a masterpiece of flavors. If you’re looking for chef-inspired cuisine, you have to try Vega this fall and every other season of the year!
Coffee Shops – Is it really fall without a little pumpkin spice in your life?! We highly recommend stopping by two of our favorite coffee shops for a little fall flavor in your cup. Both of them are located in Historic Downtown Clinton and are worth a visit. Clinch River Tattoo and Coffee will be serving some delicious pumpkin spice lattes and other specialty fall drinks. They also just launched house-made syrups with a variety of flavors: pumpkin spice, hazelnut, vanilla, cinnamon, and more. Be sure to try a Chai tea, too! E. Claire’s Coffee House is a great place to enjoy a pumpkin spice frappe, a delicious mocha or cappuccino. Be sure to try one of their decadent sweet treats or you can hang out and enjoy a delicious sandwich for lunch.
