Don’t want to leave your fur baby at home on your next adventure? No worries, Anderson County has some great pet-friendly places your furry friend can tag along and it will be an adventure for you both.

Trails – The Norris Watershed and Norris Dam State Park are just a couple of the places you and your pet can hit the trails in Anderson County. The watershed offers just under 30 miles of trails to explore and Norris Dam State Park has 15 trails with varying degrees of difficulty. Whether you hike at the watershed or the park, be sure to hike over to Clinch River Brewing which is also dog friendly! You’ll get to relax in their outdoor patio and enjoy a delicious bite to eat and craft beer. Your pet is likely to make some friends of his own.

Songbird Loop, located directly across from the brewery is another great trail to walk your dog. It’s an easy, two-mile loop with gorgeous views of Norris Dam and the Clinch River.

Haw Ridge, located in Oak Ridge, is a great place to burn off some energy for both you and your dog. There are over 30 miles of trails to explore and several areas to dip in the Clinch River to cool off or enjoy a break.

Once you've worked up an appetite, stop in Crafter's Brew for a bite to eat and cold drink. They offer a huge patio and are very dog-friendly.

Windrock Park – With over 350 miles of trails to explore you and Fido will have quite the adventure. Feel free to hit the trails in an off-road vehicle (side by side rentals are available) or take advantage of the hiking trails that Windrock has to offer. Windrock’s full campground and a wide variety of cabins are pet friendly, so it’s a great weekend get-a-way and an exciting adventure for you and your pet.

If your dog loves the water, Norris Lake and Melton Hill Lake are both great places to dip in and cool off. There are many places with great access points for dogs to easily get in and out.
