Located in Oak Ridge, Melton Hill Lake offers 173 miles of shoreline making it the perfect place for an outdoor adventure! The lake is popular for boating, fishing and water-sports. It is also known as one of the best 2,000 meter rowing courses in America. Take your pick of water-sports to enjoy on Melton Hill Lake! Water-skiing, wake-boarding, stand-up paddle boarding, and kayaking are just a few that are enjoyed on the lake. Paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boats and more are available to rent at Adventures Outdoors. Every year, thousands of rowers flock to Melton Hill Lake to train and compete at one of the best rowing courses in America. Classes are offered if you want to try your hand at rowing or if watching is more your thing, be sure to visit the Oak Ridge Rowing Association website for the upcoming regatta schedule. Melton Hill Lake is also a popular fishing destination. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) annually stocks fish into the reservoir. One of the most popular is the musky; a sport fish native to Tennessee. Melton Hill Lake boasts having the musky state record weighing in at 43 pounds, 14 ounces. Melton Hill Lake is also home to white crappie, largemouth bass, northern pike, striped bass, hybrid striped bass, skipjack herring and more.
