Winter is actually a great time to go muskie fishing! Melton Hill Lake is the best place to catch a musky. Many of them congregate near or downstream of Bull Run Steam Plant’s warm-water discharge during the winter. You can also find them near rock drop-offs or sand bars. Muskies prefer baits that have considerable action and make a lot of noise. If you’ve never fished for muskie before, the best thing you can do is use a guide! We have a number of fishing guide services in Anderson County that can help you have the best fishing experience.
