1. Days of the Pioneer Antique Show at the Museum of Appalachia
If you love antique shopping, then you won’t want to miss this two-day event in Anderson County! On Sept. 14 and 15, head to the Days of the Pioneer Antique Show at the Museum of Appalachia. This show features more than 60 of the finest selection of 18th and 19th century antique dealers. During the show, you will get to see traditional craftsmen demonstrating their various talents. Tickets for the show also include a tour of the museum.
2. Market Night in Historic Downtown Clinton
What’s better than visiting Historic Downtown Clinton? Visiting Historic Downtown Clinton on Market Night! On Sept 14. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., visitors can spend the evening browsing all the stores, as well as the local vendors that line the street. Historic Downtown Clinton is known for having more than 35 stores that feature various antiques and collectibles. There will also be food trucks, ice cream and music at the event. You can even bring your four-legged friend along with you!
Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! This event was made for you. WENTWindrock brings together Nissan truck and SUV owners from all over the United States from Sept. 25 through Sept. 29. It stated as the National Xterra Meet in 2011 to showcase the Nissan Xterra, then in 2014 the rally switched to allow all Nissan trucks and SUVs to attend. There is a trail for everyone, from beginners to experts. Over the course of 5 days, you can participate in events like the night run, a rock challenge, a raffle night and even a meet and greet with Regal Nissan/Black Watch Customs.
4. Norris Lake Clean-Up
Want to help Norris Lake keep up its reputation for being one of the cleanest lakes? Participate in the Norris Lake Clean-Up on Sept. 22 or Sept. 29! The Norris Lake Project Team is hosting the event from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on both dates to help clean up debris and trash on Norris Lake’s islands and shorelines. There will be different launch sites on each day of the clean-up. It’s a great event that not only helps the community but allows you to spend time out on the lake!
5. Historic David Hall Cabin Open House
We all know that Anderson County is rich in history, and you will have the chance to see some of that history for yourself when you attend the Historic David Hall Cabin Open House! David Hall was a Revolutionary War soldier who ran a tavern and inn. The historic cabin will be open to the public for its annual open house on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the open house, you will get to see demonstrations of blacksmithing, flintlock rifles, butter churning and more! There is no admission fee to attend this event, but donations are accepted.
6. Explore the Area
There are plenty of exciting events for you to attend during September, but we suggest you take time to explore the area while you’re here as well! Anderson County offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun, like boating, hiking, fishing and camping. September is a great month for being outside because the weather is starting to cool down a little from the hot summer temperatures.
