The Museum of Appalachia likes to welcome the warmth of spring in a unique way by trimming the heavy wool from their flock of sheep. Sheep Sheering Day includes demonstrations of shearing, carding, spinning, weaving, and other ways that pioneers turned fleece into woven goods. While you’re there, you can also enjoy sheep herding, Appalachian music, an animal meet and greet, and storytelling! Admission to this event will also include a tour of the Museum of Appalachia mountain farm and village.
2. Windrock Park Spring Shindig
The Windrock Park Spring Shindig will include guided rides, an ATV rodeo, rock crawl, poker run, drag races, mud bogs, and a dash for cash. There will be a concert by headliner Justin Moore with special guest Riley Green! You can watch the competitions and enjoy the fun of all the events occurring there throughout that weekend. Your ticket into the event will also get you in a drawing for a chance to win a Yamaha SxS! Kids ages 5 and under can even enjoy this event for free!
