Norris Lake is nestled in the mountains of East Tennessee where the waters clear reflection gives the illusion that the mountains are melting into the water.

What is there to do? A trip to Norris Lake is the ultimate family vacation because there is something for everyone. If you are more adventurous, you can wakeboard or wakesurf. The smooth water is also perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. The surrounding mountains are great for hiking and biking. There are trails for the more experienced and for a novices.

Younger children love to going tubing and with 800 miles of shoreline, you can always find a safe place for watersports.

Norris Lake is also a great place to fish. It is most known for large and small mouth bass, striper and crappie. Fishing is best in the fall and the spring but in the early morning or late evening in the summer, you can still catch some fish.

What should I know before I go? Norris Lake has full service marinas with restaurants and a multitude of rental options such as pontoon boats, jet skis, paddleboard, etc. So if you don’t have your own equipment, don’t worry you can rent it.

Location: Norris Lake is 15 miles North of Knoxville, TN and about 45 minutes south of the Tennessee/Kentucky line. It spans five counties with the easiest access points located in Anderson County. Surrounding cities include Norris and Clinton.

Where should I stay? There is a wide variety of lodging to choose from. Anderson County offers condos and houses on the lake to rustic cabins in the woods, there is certainly something for everyone to enjoy.
