Explore the original Manhattan Project sites around Oak Ridge and learn the history behind the development of the world’s first atomic weapon which helped to end WWII. Bus participants must be US citizens, at least 10 years old and have photo id. The bus tour takes place Monday through Friday throughout the months of June - August. The tour will depart from the American Museum of Science and Energy located at 115 Main Street East, Oak Ridge. The bust tour takes place from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm. Registration begins at 9:00 am. Throughout the month of August, there will be new park ranger led bus tours on the following days and times -
The Secret City tour will begin on Monday, August 5 and continue on August 15, and 23 from 1-4 pm (ET). The tour will also be offered on August 21 at 9 am-noon (ET). The tour will help visitors develop an understanding of what life was like in Oak Ridge during WWII. The tour will include a stop at the X-10 Graphite Reactor. The Oak Ridge Museums Tour will take place on August 9, 15, 17, 23, and 31 at 9:00am- 12:00 pm (ET). The Museum Tour will include a visit to the American Museum of Science and Energy, Oak Ridge History Museum, and the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge.
