The public is invited to the opening of the Westcott Wall at the Historic Grove Theatre in Grove Center in Oak Ridge on Tuesday, December 3rd at 4:00 p.m. The wall features photos by the late Ed Westcott of life in the early years of Oak Ridge. The 65-foot wall features 21 photographs of family life and recreation in the early life of Oak Ridge taken by renowned photographer Ed Westcott.
James Edward Westcott is widely acclaimed for his work documenting all aspects of the Manhattan Project (Atomic Energy Commission) in Oak Ridge through his photographs. He was the official photographer for the Manhattan Project during World War II and the only photographer allowed to photograph the Manhattan Project. Westcott’s three children will be in attendance. Westcott passed away earlier this year.
